The predecessor of College of Resource and Civil Engineering is the department of Mine Engineering of Benxi Higher Metallurgy College, which was founded in 1948. The college takes professional construction as the leader and focuses on teaching quality. We adhere to the concept of running a school of reform, development and innovation, pay attention to the cultivation of students' basic theory, practical ability and innovative consciousness and promote students' all-round development. The college's characteristics are to adhere to the road of cooperation of industry, learning and research and comprehensively improve the overall students' quality.

The college offers five bachelor degree programs. They are mining engineering, surveying and mapping engineering, civil engineering, engineering cost, road and bridge engineering. The number of college faculty totals 62, including 49 full-time teachers. Of the teachers 5 professors, 16 associate professors, 14 lecturers and 14 assistants. The college Experimental Center consists of three professional experimental centers of mining, surveying & mapping and civil engineering, and a public technical service platform for mining and surveying & mapping. The total value of experimental equipment reaches more than 17.4 million yuan.

In recent years, the college has actively conducted over 20 scientific research projects. 12 scientific research awards at all levels were received. 5 national utility model patents were achieved. More than 70 academic papers were published, of which 13 papers were indexed by SCI and EI. 17monographs and textbooks were published. 27 horizontal research projects were undertaken and the amount of scientific research is up to over 2.3 million yuan.

The college takes engineering certification as target, continuously improve educational quality and teaching level. We will make unremitting efforts to cultivate distinctive application talents for industry and local economic development.
