A few days ago, the 2023 Mechanical Innovation Design Competition for Undergraduate Students of ordinary colleges and universities in Liaoning Province, sponsored by the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education and the Liaoning Provincial Department of Finance, was held in Shenyang University of Technology.

This competition attracted more than 1,500 teachers and students and 341 teams from 29 colleges and universities in the province to participate in the competition, including 269 teams in the kind group and 72 teams in the Hui fish group. The School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the School of Mechanical Engineering of our school attach great importance to this competition, and held the 2023 Liaoning University of Science and Technology Mechanical Innovation Design Competition (school competition) in October. After careful preparation and organization, a total of 22 teams from different departments of the school were attracted to participate in the competition. Finally, 14 teams that stood out in the school competition signed up for the provincial physical group competition. After the online review of the qualifiers, as well as the final rounds of on-site display, explanation, defense, etc., the players played steadily and excellently, and finally won 3 second prizes, 5 third prizes, and 6 excellence awards.

This competition not only demonstrated the comprehensive design ability of mechanical innovation, process production ability and teamwork spirit of our college students, but also found and cultivated a group of outstanding talents with potential and achievements in scientific and technological innovation, which fully reflected our school's long-term emphasis on the cultivation of students' innovative practical ability, as well as the educational effectiveness of our teachers and students promoting teaching and learning through competition. It has stimulated the innovative and practical ability of teachers and students in our school, and tested the school-running achievements of application-oriented talents training in our school. In the future, our school will continue to adhere to the application-oriented school philosophy, pay attention to the improvement of students' innovative practical ability and teachers' innovative guidance level, and make continuous efforts and brave achievements in next year's competition.
