Liaoning Institute of Science and Technology has a long history. It could trace its earliest history back to Benxi  County Normal School, a skill-training institution, founded in 1907. After the liberation of Northeast China in 1948, the people's government took over the school and renamed it as Benxi Senior Engineering Vocational College. In May 2004, the college was upgraded as Liaoning Institute of Science and Technology. And This year is the 70th anniversary of the celebration of this university.
