The 3rd Liaoning Proteus Simulation Design Competition, hosted by the Education Department of Liaoning Province, organized by the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the School of Electrical and Automation Engineering of Liaoning University of Science and Technology, and co organized by Guangzhou Fengbiao Education Technology Co., Ltd., will be held at Liaoning University of Science and Technology from September 21st to 22nd, 2024. 371 teams from 27 universities in the province, including Liaoning University, Shenyang University of Chemical Technology, and Liaoning Institute of Science and Technology, participated in the competition. Xu Lin, an expert in the review and evaluation of the Ministry of Education, an expert in engineering education certification of the Ministry of Education, a teaching master in Liaoning Province, a leading talent in Shenyang City, a collaborative member of the Teaching Guidance Committee for Automation Majors in Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry of Education, a member and secretary-general of the Teaching Guidance Committee for Automation Majors in Ordinary Higher Education Institutions in Liaoning Province, Yang Fei, regional manager of Guangzhou Fengbiao Education Technology Co., Ltd., and Wang Weijie, technical director, and Li Weimin, president of Liaoning Institute of Science and Technology, attended the opening ceremony of the competition and provided in-depth guidance on the competition site. Liu Yan, Dean of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, members of the leadership team of the School of Electrical and Automation Engineering, and relevant teachers attended the opening ceremony of the competition. The opening ceremony was presided over by Meng Zhaojun, Dean of the School of Electrical and Automation Engineering.
In his speech at the opening ceremony of the competition, Li Weimin expressed sincere gratitude to the 15 judges and experts, and warmly welcomed all the contestants and guiding teachers.

371 teams from 27 universities in the province participated in the competition. After registration and review by each school, 342 teams were successfully recommended to the provincial competition. Among them, there are 205 sets of 51 simulation tracks, 75 sets of ARM simulation tracks, and 62 sets of physical tracks. After inviting anonymous experts from universities and enterprises, the organizing committee of the competition finally confirmed that 30 groups of ARM simulation tracks, 50 groups of 51 simulation tracks, and 20 groups of physical tracks would enter the finals. The final competition venue was orderly and the atmosphere was tense yet lively. The participating team members explained their respective works around demand analysis and technical solutions, and demonstrated the simulation effects. The excellent design concept fully demonstrated the contestants' solid professional level and engineering practice ability.
The holding of this competition has achieved the effect of "promoting teaching, learning, improvement, and construction through competitions", further improving the professional talent training program, promoting mutual learning and exchange between universities, enhancing the professional literacy, engineering design ability, practical ability, and innovative research and development ability of college students, and laying a solid foundation for promoting the reform and development of school education and teaching.
