During the summer vacation, the 17th National College Student Structural Design Competition Liaoning Provincial Division Competition was successfully held at Liaoning University of Engineering and Technology. After intense competition, our school's two teams led by teachers Deng Guang and Yang Kang both achieved good results in winning the second prize in the provincial competition.
The College Student Structural Design Competition is one of the first nine major discipline competitions in national universities, and is the highest level and largest student innovation competition in the field of civil engineering and construction. The Liaoning Provincial Regional Competition is jointly organized by the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education, the National College Student Structural Design Competition Committee, the Liaoning Provincial Civil Engineering Professional Teaching Guidance Committee, and the Liaoning Provincial Society of Civil Engineering and Architecture. This year's competition is hosted by Liaoning University of Engineering and Technology, with 49 teams of teachers and students from 25 universities in the province participating. This competition requires participants to conduct stress analysis, structural design, and model production for different loads within 12 hours, and answer questions from the reviewing experts during the loading test phase. Our school's athletes gave up their summer break, overcame numerous difficulties, trained against time, remained calm and composed during the competition, and ultimately achieved excellent results.
The purpose of this competition is to play a positive role in promoting learning and teaching through competition, actively guiding students to closely integrate structural design theory with engineering practice, enhance their practical abilities, and cultivate their innovation and teamwork abilities. This competition not only broadened students' horizons and greatly stimulated their interest and potential in innovation and entrepreneurship, but also reflected the Liaoke spirit of "perseverance and perseverance" among Liaoke students, expanded the influence of the school, and played a positive role in cultivating applied talents with innovative spirit in our school.
