In July 29th, the 2024 National College Student Surveying and Mapping Innovation and Entrepreneurship Intelligence Competition, hosted by the Education Working Committee of the Chinese Society of Surveying and Mapping, organized by Dianxi University of Applied Sciences, and co organized by Southern Surveying and Mapping Group, began at Dianxi University of Applied Sciences. In the competition, our school's contestants performed outstandingly, winning 2 special prizes, 1 first prize, and 7 second prizes, setting a new historical high. Two teachers, Wu Guangchen and Liu Yan, won the Outstanding Guidance Teacher Award in this competition.
This event is the highest level competition for national college students to showcase their innovation in surveying and mapping technology. More than 360 universities from across the country participated in this event, with nearly 8000 participating students. The scale and influence of the event reached a new high in previous competitions. The competition consists of three events: surveying skills competition, development and design competition, and scientific paper competition. Participants participate online and judges evaluate offline.
This competition provides a good platform for our teachers and students to showcase their innovative and entrepreneurial abilities in the field of surveying and mapping, and inspires their enthusiasm for promoting teaching and learning through competitions. In the future, our school will continue to adhere to the characteristics of application-oriented education, discover, cultivate, and gather talents through innovative practice, provide a broad stage for students to pursue technological progress, enhance scientific literacy, and cultivate team spirit, continuously improve the comprehensive application ability, engineering practice ability, and innovation and entrepreneurship awareness of college students, and provide talent support for the comprehensive revitalization of Liaoning.
