On April 23-24, an international academic exchange conference was successfully held, jointly organized and hosted by Liaoning Institute of Science and Technology, Vyatka State University of Russia, and Komi Science Center Institute of Biology of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The conference theme is "Home Country Ecology: Problems and Solutions", which includes a general meeting and nine group meetings, held through a mixed format of on-site and remote meetings. Luo Xudong, Vice President of Liaoning Institute of Science and Technology, Chen Li, Director of the Office of Cooperative Development and International Education, and An Changwei, Dean of the School of Biomedical and Chemical Engineering, were members of the conference organizing committee. Zhang Danfeng, Vice Dean of the School of Biomedical and Chemical Engineering, Yan Jingsen, Applied Chemistry major, Li Xiaohui, Environmental Engineering major, Liu Dandan, Pharmaceutical Engineering major, and Sino Russian joint training master's students attended the conference.
The conference brought together outstanding experts and young scholars from multiple countries including China, Russia, and India to discuss and share the latest research results, relevant problem-solving measures, and practical solutions on ecological issues, environmental protection chemicals, green energy, and other related fields. At the opening ceremony, Chen Li delivered a keynote speech on behalf of Liaoning Institute of Science and Technology. She hoped that Liaoning Institute of Science and Technology would continue to maintain a good cooperative relationship with Vyatka National University, laying a solid foundation for the joint training of master's students and the development of international laboratory work between China and Russia. An Changwei presented a conference report titled "Sludge and Wastewater Disposal and Recycling under Carbon Neutral Background", while Zhang Danfeng, Yan Jingsen, Liu Dandan, and Li Xiaohui gave separate group reports.
This Sino Russian Joint International Academic Exchange Conference is another international academic conference jointly organized by the university and Vyatka State University in Russia, following the "Green Energy Technology and Clean Production" international academic exchange conference. It has played a positive role in promoting Sino Russian joint education and is a specific measure to implement the work goals of the fourth party congress of the university, practice the high-quality development plan of the university, and promote the internationalization of the university's education. The convening of this conference will further promote the development of professional disciplines in the School of Biomedical and Chemical Engineering, broaden students' international perspectives, enhance the international level of professional teachers, and lay a solid foundation for cultivating high-quality applied talents.
