In early March, the first Liaoning Province College Student Career Planning Competition with the theme of "Building Dreams, Youthful Aspiration in the Distance, Planning to Sail and Lead the Future" held the finals of the employment and growth tracks at Dalian Maritime University and Shenyang Institute of Technology, respectively. Our school's contestants performed well in two competitions, and all 7 recommended contestants won the provincial competition excellence award. In addition, the college student career development and employment guidance course organized by Professor Sun Ximei from the Employment Guidance Center won the third prize in the provincial competition.
More than 300000 students from 102 universities in the province have registered to participate in this competition. A total of 9340 students successfully participated in the competition. After the preliminary selection of the college, 52 students entered the semifinals. After the semifinals, 20 students entered the semifinals, and finally 10 students successfully advanced to the school level finals.
In the final of the provincial competition, our school's civil engineering BZ229 Zhang Yue, mechanical and electrical BS201 Wang Chi, and electrical BS202 Liu Rongkai won the Excellent Award in the employment track (higher education group) of the provincial competition; Guo Tianchuan from Electrical BZ232, Wang Ziyang from Mining BG211, Guo Xinrui from IoT BG222, and Yuan Jinshuo from Metallurgy BG214 won the Excellent Award in the Provincial Growth Track (Higher Education Group).
Our university will take the College Student Career Planning Competition as an opportunity to better achieve the goals of promoting learning, employment, and teaching through competitions. We will turn the competition into a big classroom to strengthen career education, a big platform to promote talent supply and demand matching, and a big market to serve graduates' employment. We will guide college students to establish correct views on talent development, employment, and career choices, scientifically and reasonably plan academic and career development, enhance employment competitiveness, widely mobilize industry enterprises and our university students to participate in competition activities, promote effective matching of talent supply and demand, and fully promote high-quality and full employment for our university graduates. This will broaden students' employment horizons and provide excellent talents for Liaoning's comprehensive revitalization, new breakthroughs, and the comprehensive construction of a socialist modernized country.
