From April 23rd to 24th, the "Unity Cup" shuttlecock competition of Liaoning Province was held at the Benxi Gymnasium. Our school represented Benxi City and, with outstanding performance, won the third prize in both the men's and women's doubles. This demonstrated our school's vigorous potential and positive attitude in the field of traditional ethnic sports, highlighting our school's mission to serve the local community.
As the first ethnic traditional sports base in Benxi City dedicated to fostering a strong sense of community among the Chinese nation, our school has always been committed to the promotion and development of ethnic traditional sports. The sports department has established a tiered system consisting of associate members, junior members, and intermediate and senior members by adding ethnic traditional sports courses and innovating club-style teaching models. Through systematic training and selection, our school's intermediate and senior members have represented Benxi City in various ethnic traditional sports competitions, adding luster to the local community.
In this competition, our school's aerobics club participated in the opening ceremony with a wonderful performance, showcasing its unique charm in traditional ethnic sports. Five senior members of the shuttlecock club also served as referees, providing strong support for the smooth progress of the competition with their professional knowledge and rigorous attitude. Meanwhile, eight senior members represented Benxi to participate in the competition. They fought tenaciously, cooperated closely, and ultimately stood out in the fierce competition, winning third prizes in both men's doubles and women's doubles, bringing honor to Benxi City.
Next, the Physical Education Department of Liaoning University of Science and Technology will continue to delve deeply into the field of traditional ethnic sports, further improve the curriculum system, strengthen the construction of teacher teams, and enhance students' competitive skills. Taking this shuttlecock competition as an opportunity, we will continue to summarize experience, make full preparations for the Liaoning Provincial Minority Games to be held in Benxi in 2026, continue to leverage the advantages of the traditional ethnic sports base, serve the local community, promote the vigorous development of traditional ethnic sports, and contribute more to the promotion of excellent traditional Chinese culture.
